Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Theravela, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use our platform. We may update these terms from time to time and will notify you by email of any significant changes.

Who can use Theravela

To use Theravela you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be located in a region where our services are available
• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose

Therapists must hold a valid, active license in their jurisdiction and provide accurate license information during signup.

What Theravela is

Theravela is a technology platform that matches clients with licensed therapists. We are not a therapy provider, a mental health service, or a medical platform. We do not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis or treatment of any kind.

The therapeutic relationship — including all clinical decisions, session content, and professional responsibility — exists solely between the client and their therapist.

Client responsibilities

• Provide honest and accurate information in your matching quiz
• Use the platform respectfully and in good faith
• Understand that Theravela does not guarantee a specific therapeutic outcome
• If you are in crisis or immediate danger, contact emergency services — Theravela is not a crisis service
• Not use the messaging system to harass, threaten or intimidate therapists

Therapist responsibilities

• Maintain a valid, active license throughout your membership
• Respond to client requests in a timely and professional manner
• Not use client information for any purpose outside of the therapeutic relationship
• Comply with all applicable professional ethics codes and regulations
• Not use the platform to solicit clients outside of Theravela

Payments & subscriptions

Theravela is free for clients. Therapists pay $29.99 per month for a Verified Member subscription, billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time — your membership remains active until the end of the billing period.

Theravela does not handle payments between clients and therapists. Session fees are arranged directly between clients and their therapists.

Intellectual property

All content on the Theravela platform — including design, copy, code and trademarks — belongs to Theravela. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of our platform without written permission.

Content you submit to Theravela (such as your profile information) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to use it to provide our service.

Limitation of liability

Theravela provides its platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for the quality, conduct or outcomes of therapy sessions arranged through our platform. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or harm other users of the platform.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
